Coaching and Business Training
The right coaching and business training can make a huge difference to your ability to
make money working online. At first glance this may seem obvious but it is actually not that simple at
all...
The first question to consider is:
Why do you need business training and coaching?
We are all conditioned at an early age to get good grades at school so we can get into a
college or university and get a degree that should enable us to find a nice job. Sounds familiar?
There is nothing wrong with getting good grades and it is certainly true that receiving the
right qualifications can help you to get a good job. It all depends on what you want to do with your
life.
If you want to become a professional, like an attorney, dentist, doctor, vet, etc. you need
the right qualifications to be allowed to practice in your chosen profession.
Many companies have a preference in employing people with qualifications, even if the
qualifications are not really 100% applicable to the job specifications. This is sadly a case of over-supply. There are more people looking
for jobs than available jobs and companies can afford to be picky.
Some companies are convinced that people with an "education" will make better employees than
people with no or very little training, even if the "education" they received has nothing in common with the job they are expected to perform.
This is a matter of opinion.
Bottom line: If you want to become a professional or increase your chances on promotion being
an employee then it is obvious you need training.
However, you are not reading this page because you want to become a professional or a better
employee...No. You are reading this page because you want to make money working online!
This brings me to the second question:
Do YOU need coaching and business training?
The honest answer is that there is no right or wrong answer. It all depends
on you.
Let me explain...Some of the wealthiest people in the world became wealthy without any
business coaching or training.
I am busy reading the autobiography of Felix Dennis, called "How to get rich". Without giving
too much of the story away (you should really read the book), Felix is worth hundreds of millions of
Pounds (British Pound Sterling). He made his money publishing computer magazines.
Felix Dennis knows very little about computers. He does not write articles himself. He never
received any formal training or business coaching and has no qualifications at all. In fact, in his early days in the publishing industry he
was so poor he had to burn his own furniture to get some heat into his small London apartment!
Another good example is Robert Kiyosaki, author of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". Robert has become an
internationally acclaimed author on the topic of financial freedom without ever having attended any business school.
O.K. You may not be the next Robert Kiyosaki or Felix Dennis... Who knows?
Let's turn the situation around and look at it from a different perspective. Does the
coaching or business training ensure financial success? No. There are many clever people with too many qualifications to mention that
struggle to pay their bills every month.
As I said earlier, it all depends on the individual.
The right coaching and business training can help us to succeed
We need to brake this topic into two sections, namely past business training and
coaching, and future business training and coaching:
1. Past coaching and business training
Chances are you already have some business training behind you and even some qualifications
as well. These days most people do. We are not living a hundred years ago when only a few people had a college or university
qualification.
Do not ignore any tools, such as qualifications, you may already have in your tool box. Your
existing tools may not be able to equip you 100% in running your own business but you should be able to gain some value from it.
It is obviously a huge advantage if you can put your current qualifications to good use in
your new business.
2. Future coaching and business training
Starting and running a successful online business is not always easy, especially if you do
not know that much about running an internet based home business. There is no single magical book or article you can read that will give you all the
answers.
Try to read as much as you can. Following short courses can certainly help. We live in the
information age and high quality information is often available for free by just making a couple of clicks on the internet. There are also
many good business magazines written for home based business entrepreneurs that can give you very good advice on how to make money
online from home.
You may also consider joining a company to get the right training. You may recall from the
book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" that Robert Kiyosaki was terrified of selling. He knew he had to learn how
to sell and overcome his fear. Based on this he decided to join Xerox, not because he loved the company and products or thought it was
the best way to get rich but because they offered a great sales program and he realized he needed the training.
Let's recap. Your qualifications alone will not make you rich or ensure the success of your
online home based business. It is possible to become rich without getting coaching and business training. However, getting some
coaching and business training can certainly help a lot.
